TAGAYTAY, ATBP.
The Tagaytay trip somehow provided a semblance of balance (and relief?) from my otherwise virtual addiction. For several days, I was not coming online (bah, mahal ang internet charge sa hotel --- PhP 140/hour. Besides, I was working on a serious assignment. I should be, i have a deadline to beat!
Despite the hassles brought about by clashing and interesting personalities, (ah, women, they never changed!!!) i had fun in this official trip. i enjoyed the food and the climate; the hotel service staff were too accommodating, you would want to hand them tips every now and then, were if not for the fact that i now consider myself belonging to the er.... financially disadvantaged sec
tor.I enjoyed riding the glass-panelled elevator (forgetting my phobia for a while) coz every ride took me to a glimpse of the magnificent Taal Volcano and the lake. A refreshing sight to behold, indeed! A therapy for city living-stress!
And wait, this is interesting: Days Hotel in Tagaytay City maybe the only hotel in this country where, in order to reach your room or suite you have to do the reverse procedure ---- from the lobby, go down instead of up. How's that?
And the pasalubongs? Mazapan sweets from Tagaytay, lambanog (i might have a new drinking partner in the person of Mam Edith) newly-baked buko pies, fruits like langka, avocado, pineapple (my favorite), santol, senorita (which is Liza's fav), etc. etc. Dragon fruit? I had a taste of this attractive-looking, dark pink-colored bland fruit which they said was good for diabetic patients and weight-conscious ladies, but this isn't for me, promise. Lastly, pasalubong is not complete without going to the Mahogany market to buy a kilo or two of reasonably priced, freshly-slaughtered beef meats.
Many thanks for Mam Edith for her thoughtfulness and generousity --- a bracelet and a pearl necklace from her, an enjoyable lunch of sinigang bangus belly, laing and boneless crispy pata at the Serye, and lotsa chikas to complete the day ---- who would complain of a tiring day? If only for you Mam, I'L go watch the SONA on July 25, 2005 (thanks, its official holiday) to try to figure out whether GMA's detractors have the right or no right to say --- SONA or SAYONARA?
